Full compliance with DEFRA and TRACES regulations for animal transport
Fully insured to carry out installations in vehicles, including specialist cover rarely held by other companies
Designed and fitted to match your specific van layout and business model
Fixed crates are permanently installed in the vehicle and built to fit the exact shape and layout of your van or car. This option is ideal if the vehicle is used mainly or only for transporting dogs. It gives you maximum strength, stability and a clean, professional finish that looks like part of the van from the factory.
These setups work especially well for dog walkers, rescue centres or transport companies that need something long term, safe and built to handle daily use. Each crate is carefully designed to make the most of your space, while still offering great airflow and comfort for the dogs.
Fixed custom crates are usually lighter and built to match the exact shape of the vehicle. They can be removed if necessary, but it takes more time and effort as they are securely installed. Because they are built around the full available space, they generally offer more room for the dogs, especially in vans with complex layouts.
Fully welded slide-in crates are heavier but much easier to install and remove as a complete unit. They are designed to fit neatly between the wheel arches, which makes them ideal for flexibility, but they may offer slightly less internal space compared to fully customised setups.
If you want something solid but still removable, this option might be the right fit. Our slide-in crates are fully welded as one strong unit and simply slide into the back of the vehicle. When needed, they can be taken out to free up space.
They are a great solution for anyone who uses the vehicle for dogs but also needs it for other things now and then. You still get the same quality, airflow and strength as our fixed crates, just with the added flexibility of being able to remove them whenever you like.
In our crate systems, each wire of the mesh is individually welded to the steel frame. This method takes more time and attention to detail, but it ensures a clean, solid connection at every point.
Thanks to this approach, the entire structure is fully sealed during the powder coating process. Even the smallest joints are protected, helping to prevent corrosion caused by moisture that naturally builds up inside vehicles used for animal transport.
This level of precision not only increases the crate’s durability but also helps eliminate sharp edges and improves overall safety for both dogs and handlers.
Mesh resting directly on the frame creates contact points that are hard to fully protect during powder coating.
Over time, moisture trapped underneath can lead to rust and surface degradation, especially in the humid conditions found inside vans.
We build our crates using hot rolled steel in 20x20 mm and 16x16 mm box sections. This makes them strong, durable and much lighter than many other systems.
Less weight means better fuel efficiency and less wear on your vehicle — a real advantage over time, especially for everyday use.
At MIKLEK LTD, we design and build custom van crate systems tailored to the needs of professionals who rely on secure, hygienic and regulation-compliant transport.
Whether you are a dog rescue organisation, dog walking service, or a pet transport company operating internationally, our systems are engineered to meet the highest standards. They are built in line with the requirements of DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) and comply with the Animal Welfare (Transport) Regulation as well as TRACES guidelines for cross-border movement.
We offer crate setups ranging from 2-unit installations for local handlers to 20-crate systems for large-scale operations. Every build goes through detailed planning and thorough quality checks to ensure it meets inspection criteria and functional needs.
We understand how important it is to get the configuration right from the beginning. When inspections and deadlines are involved, our systems provide the reliability and compliance you need. Every build is ready for inspection and built to last.
Contact us to discuss your vehicle, route and operational requirements. We are here to guide you through every step of the process — from consultation to professional installation.
